Soy Pickled Onion Tacos

Ingredients (Makes 4 tacos)

  • Base: 4 hard taco shells

  • Protein Filling: 1/2 lb ground beef or plant-based ground meat alternatif

  • Filling Seasoning: 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp ginger, salt and black pepper to taste

  • Fresh Salsa: 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion, 1/4 cup finely chopped white onion, 1/4 cup fresh cilantro (chopped)

  • Topping: 1 jar Lucky Foods Soy Pickled Onions

  • Garnish: Fresh lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salsa: Mix the finely chopped red onion, white onion, and cilantro together in a small bowl. Set aside.

  2. Cook the Meat: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground meat or plant-based protein, break it up with a spoon, and cook until browned. Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, ginger, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until fully coated and cooked through.

  3. Warm the Shells: Heat the hard taco shells according to package instructions (typically 3–5 minutes at 375°F / 190°C).

  4. Assemble: Fill each warm taco shell with a layer of seasoned ground meat. Sprinkle the fresh onion and cilantro salsa over the meat.

  5. Garnish & Serve: Top each taco with large rings of Lucky Foods Soy Pickled Onions. Serve immediately with fresh lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
