Ingredients
- Soy pickled onions
- Sausages
- Brioche hot dog buns
- Red cabbage (finely shredded)
- Carrot (julienned into thin matchsticks)
- Yellow mustard
- Green onion (sliced into long, thin strips)
- Fresh cilantro leaves
Instructions
1. Prep the Fresh Slaw & Garnishes
- Shred the red cabbage and julienne the carrots. Toss them together lightly to create a vibrant, crunchy slaw base.
- Slice the green onion and prep the cilantro leaves for the final aromatic garnish.
2. Grill the Sausages
- Heat a skillet, griddle, or grill pan over medium heat.
- Cook the sausages for 6–8 minutes, turning occasionally, until heated through with nice, dark char marks on the outside.
3. Toast the Buns
- Split the brioche buns and place them face-down on the warm cooking surface for 1–2 minutes until the insides are beautifully golden and toasted.
4. Build the Hot Dog
- Apply a neat line of yellow mustard down the center of the toasted bun.
- Layer a generous pinch of shredded red cabbage and carrots inside the bun.
- Place the hot, grilled sausage right over the fresh veggies.
- Spoon a heavy layer of some soy pickled onions directly over the sausage, allowing some of the savory juice to soak into the bun.
- Top with the green onion strips and a few fresh cilantro leaves
